After clearing and amending the soil, I laid pavers to access the back gate. We used recycled pavers from the house Deborah was leaving. In the first phases of the design I planted anchor plants and started to visualize what was to come next.

Our first phase of winter planting looked sparse. Working within a budget, I opted to procure smaller plants to install so that I could cover more space. The idea being that they would mature to fill in the bare ground.

During a renovation project at Deborah's, I worked closely with the contractor to help design the deck and the new pathway. The end result made the garden look clean and refined.

The garden full grown in autumn. The Hinoki I planted in the center of the bed was a great indicator.
